1983 Stratford Toll Booth Crash

Seven people were killed Jan. 19, 1983, when a tractor trailer crashed into several cars at the Stratford toll booth. Another fatal crash in 1985 led to the end of the tolls.
It was about 3 p.m. January 19, 1983, when a tractor trailer carrying yams careened into the Stratford toll booth plaza.
